
Family Services Specialist
Grayson County Department of Social Services - Independence, VA
Managing and supervising difficult and complex cases involving in-depth interventions for children and youth who have entered foster care.
Formulating and implementing service plans which identifies goals, service needs and supports, based upon a comprehensive assessment of the child and family.
Coordinating intensive services provided by other agencies, such as individual/family counseling, educational programs, medical and mental health care, legal counsel, probation monitoring, and substance abuse treatment programs.
Collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure the well-being of children and families.
Inputting, retrieving and analyzing data for the purpose of generating and reviewing reports to ensure data is current and accurate.
Responding to public inquiries and referrals on Social Service issues and identifying appropriate program services/resources.
Representing the agency to other departments, court and City personnel.
Participating in community education & engagement, recruitment and advocacy/support for Social Service issues and programs.
